John Ray, born November 27, 1627 in Essex, England. Ray was referred as the father of English natural history. In 1670 he used Ray instead of John Ray. Ray was an influential philosopher and Theologian, He wrote The Wisdom of God Manifested in the Works of the Creation (1691) and Three Physico-Theological Discourses (1692)
